Teamwork!

Earlier this summer I sat in Izmir, Turkey with the National Director of our largest work in the region.  We were discussing where he wants me to focus as I spend September 29 – October 2 with ten of the Arabs he is preparing to lead our work in his country.  He had one word for me: Teamwork!  These young firebrands need to learn to work together and they are eager to do so.  The Arab Spring shows us many things about the Middle East and North Africa.  One major lesson is that the next generation of Arabs is less inclined to line up behind an authoritarian leader.  They want to have a say in their future.  But Arabs are strong and bold.  Thus, you see the need to learn to work together.   Please pray that Jesus will train this team, like He trained His own team, to love one another and to lead together.  (John 13:34-35)
 
Prayer Request:   Please also pray for our youngest 3 sons Hudson, Graham and Calvin.  Over the last week they’ve lost 3 friends to suicides and a drug overdose.  As I write this we are preparing to go to one of the funerals.  Ask God to give our sons much grace and peace as they process this and seek to comfort those around them.  And join us in standing firm and resisting the devil who comes to steal, kill and destroy those around us.  (Ephesians 6:11; James 4:10 and John 10:10)
