Family Needs

My sabbatical will be “supplemented” by some special family needs and opportunities:

  • My sister’s daughter died recently, and her husband is descending in dementia.  So, we’ll be visiting her in Ohio to provide some encouragement and support.

  • Our youngest son Graham will be getting married in January, so we’ll be visiting him and his fiancé in November to connect more deeply and to help prepare for the wedding.  Plus, Renée will be coming alongside some of the leaders of our Detroit Navigators ministry, as she has done before.

  • Our daughter-in-law Lauren is expecting her 3rd child in March.  She’s in the Middle East with our son, and it’s a complicated pregnancy.  So, Renée will be going in February / March to help there.

Father, please use David and Renée to truly encourage and help their family members.

PrayFirst,

David

P.S. Even this early in my sabbatical I’m already sleeping better and others are telling me that I look refreshed.  Last week I met with my sabbatical advisor.  Today I meet with my sabbatical supervisor.  And this week I meet with my sabbatical support team.  That feels like a good start!
