Expect Opposition

As I launched the Encountering Jesus Together (EJT) project in January 2020 the Lord whispered to me “expect opposition”.  Anything designed to ignite and fuel disciple making movements (DMM’s) will be resisted.  EJT is going well, and momentum is building.  But every week things arise that feel designed to slow us down or diffuse our impact. Maybe that is why the lowest common denominator of all DMM’s is extraordinary prayer.  Some things move only by prayer and fasting.  So, last week the Lord led me to “up the ante” by doubling my own weekly fasting for this project.  I’m grateful for the 2 dozen friends and fellow workers who are fasting and praying with me.  Please let me know if you feel led to join us in fasting in some way, and I’ll send you more specifics.

P.S. Our virtual gathering of emerging international leaders two weeks ago exceeded our expectations.  I was especially encouraged with the sessions on developing women leaders, particularly women with young children.  That was facilitated by Renée and her fellow leader Fadia.  Please continue to pray as we discern how to gather those emerging leaders into cohorts over the coming months.
