It Seemed Good
The challenges of leading a Worldwide Partnership are even more acute during a pandemic. Our team will be meeting virtually for the first two weeks of August, and I feel a bit overwhelmed by the many complex issues on our agenda. Yet our issues are no more complex and difficult than those faced when Paul met with the elders in Jerusalem. There was “much debate” according to Acts 15:7. That sounds like many leader meetings that I’ve joined! But in the end, they agreed: “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us.” Please pray with me, “Lord of the Harvest, would You once again lead Your servants so clearly that they will say, ‘It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us.’”
P.S. I am encouraged with how our Encountering Jesus Together sessions went last week. Barna’s work confirmed our own work and offered surprising encouragement that we are in step with The Spirit. For example, there is surprising spiritual hunger for discipling among twenty-somethings! Later in the week the Lord gave our team quick tentative consensus on design criteria. So, we are preparing to apply what we’ve been learning. Please continue to pray for us!
