Not For Beginners
I tried to squirm out of this trip to Nigeria. I prayed about it a long time. But the Lord made it clear that I’m to go, so I’m going. My Nigerian friends, and others who’ve traveled in Nigeria, tell me that Nigeria is not for beginners. Some of them are talking about the physical dangers. Others are talking about the challenges of working with strong Nigerians. But they also speak of how Nigerians are so deep and beautiful and inspiring. I love their faith and courage. My best Nigerian friend was actually a warrior earlier in his life.
They’ve asked me to come and help them with Spirit-led strategic planning for their next 5-10 years of ministry. I love that. So, let’s go! December 9-17 pray with me, “May the God who gives perseverance and encouragement, grant our Nigerian fellow workers to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord they may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ”. (Romans 15:5-6).
P.S. Please keep praying for our funding. An extra $2500 has come in in the last week! That leaves $47K to go.
P.P.S. Here’s a little Christmas gift for you. Last week I was meditating on two fascinating characters, Simeon and Anna, and how they celebrated the arrival of the Christ and blessed the younger generation coming up behind them. I shared my meditation with some of our senior staff, and you may enjoy listening in. Audio Link: Simeon & Anna Audio Only.
