Field Council
Next week we bring together our Regional Directors for what could be called a field council. Our International Executive Team oversees the whole work, but these 7 Regional Directors are the operational leaders who get the work done on the field in Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and North America. They love to come together to encourage each other and to learn from one another. It feels a bit like that gathering in Antioch where Paul and his team gathered “to report all things God had done with them and how He had opened a door for faith to the Gentiles.” (Acts 14:27). Lord of the Harvest, please encourage Your workers!

P.S. My heart is vacillating between hope and sadness regarding the turmoil in the US work. On the one hand, I’m thankful that I’ve been able to play a redemptive role. I’m treasuring a note that a colleague passed to me at one point saying, “Thanks David… That was a good Apostle James moment.” I’m seeing more redemptive courage and humility behind the scenes than I’ve not seen in 20 years. On the other hand, at other times I’m also still seeing pride, blindness, and stubbornness on both sides of the conflict, and that is making me very sad. All this motivates me to pray, pray, pray! Here’s a link to a meditation that I shared to open some of the difficult meetings that I helped to lead in July: How To Pray Through A Conflict. Here’s a 10 minute video of the same: Praying Through A Conflict.
