Connecting & Launching

What gets you so excited that you gladly stay up into the wee hours of the morning?  One of the few things that does that for me is gathering with dear family, friends and fellow-workers that I rarely see.  That’s what kept Paul and his fellow-workers up until daybreak in Troas.  (Acts 11:6-11) That’s what I expect to happen this week as dear friends and family gather for nearly a week for the wedding of our son Hudson and his bride Lauren.  Even a week won’t be enough time to connect as deeply as we long to do.  But it will be enough time to celebrate and launch Hudson & Lauren, who will be heading to the Middle East within a few months.  Pray that everyone, especially Hudson & Lauren, will be deeply encouraged.

Prayer update: This last week of meetings with my team has been particularly intense for me.  At one point, I felt lower than I’ve felt in a long time.  On the other hand, last night, I felt like giving God a high five!  On the whole, I have experienced exactly what I asked you to pray: God’s grace in the midst of my weakness.
