Boot Camp

Last year I had the joy of spending a week teaching at the Iris Fortaleza School of Missions, a gathering of young people who aspire to be missionaries.  Tonight I am preparing to return there for a week.  This is at the heart of the ministry that our daughter Nicole Lorelei and her husband Herb founded there.  Last year there were almost 50 students, mainly Brazilians.  This year there are many more.  Last year I met with a group that was feeling called to the Middle East.  This year I’ll be helping that same group to prepare to leave later this year.  Nicole Lorelei also asked me to lead a Bible Boot Camp for the students.  This whole school is like a spiritual boot camp.  I love these people. And they love The Navigators calling, values and vision.  In view of 2 Timothy 2:2, please pray that God will use me to entrust The Treasure to faithful young men and women who will be able to teach others also.

Prayer Request updates:
Middle East -  I’ve just spent 4 days with key Arab leaders here in the Middle East planning the future of our most fruitful ministry here.  They are equipping 10 Muslim Background Believers (MBB’s) to lead their own missional communities, and planning toward equipping 100 more such MBB leaders in the next 5-10 years.

Nepal -   Our days in Nepal were rich.  We got to know the leaders of a Gospel movement among Hindus.  Entire families and villages have turned to Christ.  Now we’re preparing for Nepali’s to take over the leadership from the missionaries.  While there I spoke at a conference on integrity, which is a big issue in a country permeated with corruption.  I invite you to listen to the first 5 minutes of my message.   Then decide if you’d like to hear the rest of it: http://www.ohmsi.net/index.cfm?&menuid=95.
