Striving Together
Imagine getting together with your fellow workers and friends just once a year. You’d want to fit in a lot of connecting and encouraging and problem solving! That’s what it’s like for our Regional Directors and their wives. These are leaders of five different nationalities who live on six different continents. They each carry a heavy leadership load. And this Sunday we bring them together for just five days.
So Philippians 1:27 jumped off the page when I read it this morning: “Standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the Gospel.” Paul was writing to disciples that he saw rarely but loved deeply. Please pray that this coming week God will enable us to effectively strive together for the faith of the Gospel.
Prayer update: Our son Hudson and his team leave for their scouting trip in the Middle East this Sunday. Earlier this week Hudson told me that they were still more than $1000 short. Later he fell asleep in the middle of writing to a friend about it. Then he was awakened by a call telling him that the rest of the money had already arrived! There are many other loose ends, as there always are. This is clearly a faith trip. Monday and Tuesday evening we gathered with friends to “pray them out”. Please pray that this team would also effectively strive together for the faith of the Gospel.
