God's Rest
You may have noticed that I’ve been on a sprint since returning from sabbatical in April. It’s been a wonderful sprint. In fact, time and again I’ve been marveling at how good I feel even after returning from long and demanding trips. I think that I’m learning to enter God’s rest even in the midst of very busy times.
But God doesn’t intend for me to run that fast all the time. So, these last two weeks we’ve been mostly visiting family back east, and for most of the next two weeks I’m taking time for rest, reflection, recreation and extended time alone with God. Please pray that God will continue to train me to enter His rest, both during designated times like this, and while on the run. (Hebrews 4:11)
Answered Prayer: We enjoyed wonderful weekend reconnecting with about 50 friends and fellow workers in the Gospel who partner with us in funding our work. It is so good to see God’s faithfulness in friendships that have lasted for decades. It was especially good to see how God is at work in some of our former students who have come through deep trials into a season of joy.
