Although We Disagree
A few years ago an Orthodox priest named Father Jonah said to me: Do you think that The Navigators could help us reach the lost? I discovered that, although we disagree about many things, this priest really knows and loves Jesus. His question launched me into an initiative that has led to some amazing God stories in Russia, Serbia, Ethiopia, and the States. I have shared some of those stories along the way.
Now we are sponsoring an Orthonet Consultation on Evangelization and Discipleship this week. This will involve about 20 Orthodox priests and lay leaders, and about 20 Navigator Protestant Evangelicals. All of us will be uncomfortable as we enter one another's worlds. Please pray that each of us will walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love. (Ephesians 4:1-3)
Prayer update: Thank you for praying for my teaching opportunities. I have been keenly aware of my weaknesses, but I sense that God’s Spirit has shown up and demonstrated what He loves to do. It has been a joy watching God delve into the hearts of new Navigator staff through His word and by His Spirit. Please continue to pray because I have more such opportunities this week and in the next couple of weeks.
